moe: Hey Abe, I just read that when you were a mere sheep herder you would sacrifice lambs and then feast on them with your buddies. Is this true?

abe: Yeah, it's true. But what seldom makes the papers is that my buddies were angels. Usually Michael and Gabriel. Boy, could Gabriel cook up a lamb. He had this special gravy he made by grinding up a few of his bluish feathers and then mixing the paste with some drops of uranium. Man that dude could cook. He used the fire off of Michael's sword to do this stir-fry thing that was just heavenly. At that time, he had no wok, of course. He cooked everything in his cupped hands. Why do you ask?

Moses: You know in the old days when I wanted to know something about what was going on I would read the papers. I knew that the Holy Jehosephat Inquisitor was conservative and the Salome Instigator a bit left of center. That was OK because I could filter out their ideological tendancies. But now they and most other media outlets seem to have tossed away the accepted fiction of objectivity to openly favour their cherished biases. Now it is really quite difficult to gleen anything worthwhile in terms of objective news. Everything seems to have become a commercial hocking ideological wares.
Abraham: As that old saying goes, "We get what we pay for." And so it always smells like money.
My take on it is that it's never been objective, but we used to beleive it was because we didn't have access to the 98 other shades of gray. We knew only what was told to us by those institutions of truth and a few other wisperers of dissent. But, now, we're smarter (maybe), and we listen to the clear-toned voices of thousands speaking from all the cracks in the wailing wall. None of the voices are objective, but they reveal that objectivity is impossible.
